Why your suburb changes what we fit
The old single-glazed timber villas around central Nelson lose heat fast, so they usually need a bigger unit than the floor area alone suggests. Those still winter mornings with frost and inversion smog sitting over the low-lying suburbs are exactly when you want reliable heat, and a unit that's too small will struggle.

Coastal homes and salt air
If you're out at Tahunanui, Mapua or anywhere close to the water, salt air eats standard outdoor units over time. For those spots we fit models built for coastal conditions and site the outdoor unit where it gets a bit of shelter and rain to rinse the salt off.
It costs a touch more up front, but a corroded coil a few years early costs more again. We'll tell you when your address actually needs it rather than upselling every home near the coast.
Working in the central Nelson suburbs
Nelson City and the surrounding streets are where we do a good chunk of our work, and the older housing there brings its own quirks. Tight ceiling cavities, weatherboard walls and heritage-era framing all affect where the pipework can run. We sort that on the visit before we quote.
